There are a number of Georgian Laws that govern the use of seatbelts. The most important law in this regard is the Traffic Code of Georgia, which was adopted in 2006. This law requires all drivers and passengers in a vehicle to wear a seatbelt. Failing to do so can result in a fine.
Other Georgian Laws that deal with seatbelts include the Criminal Code of Georgia and the Law on Road Traffic Safety. The Criminal Code of Georgia stipulates that it is a crime to not wear a seatbelt while driving or riding in a vehicle. The Law on Road Traffic Safety requires drivers to ensure that all passengers in a vehicle are wearing a seatbelt.
