We're not entirely sure where Suzuki was born, but it is believed that he was born in a small village in the province of Kanagawa, just south of Tokyo. Suzuki's father was a Buddhist priest, and it is thought that Suzuki may have been born in the family temple. Suzuki's mother passed away when he was just six years old, and he was raised by his father and grandparents. Suzuki showed a great deal of talent and interest in learning at a young age, and his father did everything he could to encourage and foster Suzuki's love of learning.
